VIDEO: Crowds gather to view spillway spectacles

Last week the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conducted required safety tests of the spillway gates at the Hartwell, Russell and Thurmond dams. We are pleased to announce that the tests were a success. Our dam safety experts identified no major problems and all dams passed inspection.

Crowds gathered at the dams last week to witness the tests. We estimated 400+ people at the Hartwell test on July 10 and 1,000+ at the Thurmond test on July 11.
